Remission

For the last time, before I get any more stupid comments suggesting some ridiculous quacky cure…

Unless you are a gastroenterologist/immunologist or some expert on Crohn’s, I don’t care what cured your friend when you suggested it to them, I will not use your cure/treatment.

This includes:

  • Squatting
  • Herbs
  • Unproven treatments
  • Cutting out dairy
  • Actually, cutting out anything from my diet

The main reason for this is because I’m on a treatment that is working.

I am in remission.

I like my milk. I like my food. They do not cause me any Crohn’s-y issues.

None. Nada. Zilch. Nothing.

Therefore, cutting them out of my diet would be pointlessly cruel to myself. I don’t need to cut them out, therefore I won’t.

I don’t go round trusting any ol’ person. If I want any serious advice on my Crohn’s or treatments for it, I will go to my doctor. Not the internet.

Kthxbi.

  1. Well said! Your doctor’s not spent 7+ years at uni for you to go and take more notice of the internet than him/her. You know what works for YOU and your doc’s got more than a fair idea too… 🙂

  2. You sound frustrated and angry. That can’t be good for your condition.

Have you considered relaxation therapy, perhaps with crystals and scented candles? . oh, and chanting…

It worked for my friend 😉

  3. I’ve had soooooo much of this over the years too (i have crohns too). Relatives trying to take charge and get annoyed when i don’t take up their advice.

    REALLY PISSES ME OFF.

As i come from an Indian background, i get told to pray more, sing prayers, do yoga, cut out potatoes and flour. People thinking they know why i got it in the first place. Cos of my poor diet when i was younger or that i woke in the late mornings.

I’m used to politely ignoring + educating them though.
